Avenue of Flags
Calverton National Cemetery began serving the veteran community in 1978. The Support Committee at Calverton National Cemetery, a not for profit non-government agency, has supported Calverton National Cemetery throughout the years.
This committee consists of members of Veteran Service Organizations, American Gold Star Mothers and Fraternal Organizations. The committee sponsors Memorial Day and Veterans Day activities as well as the Avenue of Flags.
The Avenue of Flags is a presentation of flags beginning at the main gate and winding its way through Calverton National Cemetery. These flags are interment flags, donated to Calverton National Cemetery in honor of a deceased veteran for flying on flag holidays.
These flags may be the interment flag from any veteran or active duty person, no matter where they are buried. The flags are presented in loving memory of those who gave their all and displayed with the same loving care.
Flagpole donations are currently $75. If you wish to support the Avenue of Flags by purchasing a flagpole, please make your check payable to:

Our Avenue of Flags commemorates our fallen comrades to pay homage to those who served. Calverton National Cemetery assists in the collection of flags to be displayed and the procurement of flagpoles so that this Avenue of Flags may extend over the entire cemetery as it grows.
Those who wish to donate a flag can bring the flag to the Calverton National Cemetery administration building.
Please include the following information:
The full name of the veteran in whose memory and honor the flag will be flown.
The name and address, including the zip code of the individual donating the flag.
